The Lower Moyamensing Civic Association is pleased to announce a beautification contest for our community members for Spring and mid-Summer 2022.
We would like to recognize the dedication and creative vision of our neighborhood gardeners by holding a contest to celebrate the best window box display, front stoop planters, and best street tree.
The contest runs from May 5, 2022 until July 15, 2022. Neighbors are invited to nominate anyone, ranging from themselves to other members of the community.
To Qualify:
– Entries must be for houses within the Lower Moyamensing boundaries (Broad St to 7th St, Snyder Ave to Oregon Ave)
– Entries can come from those who wish to nominate themselves or nominate a neighbor
– Entries must fall under one of the following categories: “Best Window Box display, “Front Stoop Planters,” or “Best Street Tree”
– Clear photographs of the space must be submitted with the application
– Address of the entrant must be included
Civic Association Board members will rank and vote on the top entries, selecting a winner and runner-up for each of the three categories.
Winners and runner-ups will be announced at the South Philly High School Gardens (Broad & Jackson St) at the end of July.
